HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE
EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

If you wish to be considered for any of the positions listed in this announcement, please proceed as follows:

•  Review the "Open to" portion of each separate job listing to ensure that you are eligible to be considered.

•  The preferred method for applying to posted vacancies will be to apply online via the Georgia Merit System Resume Builder at www.thejobsite.org . Alternatively, you may
e-mail your State of Georgia Application for Employment or resume as an attachment to jobs@dor.ga.gov .

•  Jobs for which there is a written examination administered by the Georgia Merit System will be filled from the List of Available Applicants (LOAA). To be placed on the List of Available Applicants for one of the jobs, you must have obtained a passing score on the test for that particular job. The majority of these tests are offered on a walk-in basis at the Georgia Merit System office in Atlanta or at a regional test center. Testing schedules and directions to test sites are located at www.thejobsite.org (Select Applicant Resource Center , then Testing and Exams).

•  Before submitting your application or resume, be satisfied that you have included all relevant information in complete detail. If a large number of qualified applicants apply for a position, your application or resume may be used to screen for essential job related factors. Then, only the most highly qualified applicants may be interviewed.

•  Applications or resumes received in response to job announcements (if they meet all other eligibility requirements) will be evaluated by professional staff from the Office of Human Resources and/or the Georgia Merit System to determine qualifications for the posted vacancy. Substitution of college/experience may be made if such is deemed applicable.

•  All applicants selected for vacancies will be subject to a background investigation to include criminal records check, appropriate tax filing and payment, and education and employment verification.   If you require assistance in preparing and/or sending your resume or job application in the electronic format or if you need an accommodation, due to a disability, for any part of the employment process, please contact the Office of Human Resources at (404) 417-2140 or (404) 417-2160 (TDD).
